Malaysiakini melaporkan jumlah jangkitan baru kes Covid-19 yang dilaporkan setakat jam 12 tengah hari tadi adalah 24,599 kes berbanding 22,642 kes, semalam.
Jumlah itu adalah angka harian tertinggi sejak pandemik melanda negara tahun lepas dan ini menjadikan kes kumulatif terkumpul sebanyak 1,640,843 kes.
Tiga negeri mencatatkan paras tertinggi hari ini, semuanya di luar Lembah Klang. Negeri-negeri itu adalah Sabah, Pulau Pinang dan Johor.
Sabah mencapai paras tertinggi 3,487. Ia juga adalah hari ketiga berturut-turut yang menyaksikan kes di negeri tersebut melebihi 3,000.
Sementara itu, Johor buat kali pertama mencecah 2,000 kes, ia mencatatkan tahap tertinggi pada 2,785 kes.
Pulau Pinang juga mencatatakan tahap tertinggi pada 2,078, ini kali kedua jangkitan baru di negeri itu melebihi 2,000 kes.
